shared from a friend's youtubes.  and look up Hitchens' book, published after his death, his last notes, 'Mortality' is a fine book giving hitchens insights into his coming death, and not last what kind of creature he would be if he turned to god in the end.  look it up, but first look at a friends video.  thank you.

Muhammad And Islam in a nutshell - My Basic View Of The Prophet Muhammad

My Basic View Of The Prophet Muhammad

A merchant who had an epileptic event, and other events that followed, that he claimed were divine messages or visitation, he used, and misused this 'gift', as a prophet for his own profit, and after his death the religion was formalised.  The Koran over a decade after Muhamad's death, the Hadiths two centuries later, both purged rival texts, both were subjective, and far from divine, and slanted with the politics of the eras involved.  Meaning that even if Muhammad was a prophet, his work was lost, the Koran isn't divine, and the Hadith is a joke of collected stories from over two centuries after Muhammad died.

All to often the idea of Islamophobia is used to silence real critique?

Not just used by fascists, yet very easy for extremists to use to scare off critics, and progressives to use to dismiss critics as bigots and racists!

Muslim Moronic Statements + the drink

This kind of pathetic comment is all too common, ignorance and rhetoric from a person who should know better.

See the video about Muhammad and Islam, in which the great drinker and think, the Hitch, refutes the cult of Islam.

Christopher Hitchen, and some criticism.

Response to a Christian fanatic about Christopher Hitchens, the response is from under a video on youtube about Islam and Muhammad, in which Hitchens refutes much of Islam's foundations, as you may expect many of the comments under the video are from Bigots, racists, Muslim Fanatics, and Chrstian nutbars, here I respond to one who such criticism of Hitchens.

Some People makes slightly silly claims, some of those are directed towards authors, oddly they seek out the videos related to them, and add poorly thought out Youtube comments, in this case Mr. A*** makes a point about Christopher Hitchens, he claims, “This man is virtually an illiterate. Whose claim to fame is an unresearched book. He was a hack writer in Vanity Fair magazine and left no legacy worth the mention. Good riddance.” Criticism of this kind may seem pointless, it largely is, since the person only uses a few facts and ignore the criticised person's career, in this case I respond by pointing out he was an imperfect, if quite good journalist, author of various books on various topics.
“He was a journalist with some notable errors in his writing, or over simplifications, and yet, he strikes many topics very well, expressing concern over some very mistaken beliefs. I personally don't think the judgement upon the man, Hitchens, is best expressed as he was simply a hack and left no legacy, the fact that he material is still in book stores disproves the legacy point, the hack claim is subjective at best.”

“He wrote on George Orwell, Henry Kissinger, Bill Clinton, Thomas Jefferson, and Thomas Paine, in a number of books, as well a many articles that were sometimes far from serious, or to be taken as fully serious. Such as the duty he was given to argue that women aren't funny, he also did some things like breaking antiqued New York laws, such as riding through central part with your feet of the peddles, and a story on male waxing. Journalists aren't always serious, when they are they can express well some very good points, Hitchens was good at this, and changed his position on many topics, showing that he was a fair journalist, and a freethinker.”

“So fair, even if he was a heavy drinker and smoker, and god seemed to give him the most obvious death anyone could imagine, a cancer that was the same as his father's, and related to smoking and drinking, and I dare say his weight didn't help either. It seems that he made a good impact over his life, even if some wealth and a little fame was only true for his last decade."

Islamophobia or just a honest way of expressing doubts in regards to Islam?

Doubters, Critics, Sceptics, it's fine, as long as your not just an ignorant clown who expresses hatred then so what?!  sound criticism of any belief, any person alive or dead, any so-called holy figure or book, or anything is OK, but as reasoned people it should be a rational response, as with much of the work of Christopher Hitchens.  Yet, what we find with some people on the left of politics is this idea of labelling anyone who critiques Islam a bigot, closet racist, etc.  Surely these people need to learn the difference between the informed intellectuals and the irrational fear-mongers, or else face ridicles on a vast stale!  Whether your atheistic or not is not the issue, the concern is that as a critic you are lightly to fall into this camps, one that is able to learn, able to progress, and the other which is dogmatic, the dogmatists include religious fanatics and the fuellers of race hatred.  I don't know about you, but I believe that dogma is the great foe of progress, I consider Christopher Hitchens(1949-2011) to be one who was not the enemy of civilisation.  I don't think Islam is our wholesale foe, if anything we have many foes within the Muslim world, and most of them hate each others guts about as much as they take offence to liberal western culture.  Moderate Muslims do exist, but most are traditionalist, which means they are fundamentalists, of a kind, and yet, are not probable to raise a sword to fight for the extremists, so rather than judging all Muslims as the same, like some people do, we should be educated upon the matter, and clear, as we question the values of this religion.  Islam doesn't deserve privileged more than any other belief, ad if possible the separation of Church and State should be promoted, the fairness of governance by impartial, honourable people.  And, we should not prevent Muslims from expressing themselves within our society, as long as this expression fits within the laws and guidelines of our society.
